MONTROSE HILLS
PHILOSOPHY
"When you touch one thing with deep awareness, you touch everything."
Welcome to Montrose Hills | Therapy | Developmental Education, situated in the picturesque Whitsundays.
Our philosophy is centred on delivering impactful therapy in a relaxed, non-clinical atmosphere.
We offer therapeutic services to children, youth, and adults who are facing challenges in functional domains such as communication, social interaction, learning, self-care, and self-management. We also assist with skill development, goal setting, emotional regulation, sensory awareness, and more.
These therapeutic services are provided through the expertise of a Developmental Educator (allied health professional) and can be offered as a mobile therapy service.
You may wish to integrate complementary therapeutic experiential learning with animals and nature under the guidance of our Developmental Educator.
Our collaborative and holistic approach empowers growth, learning, and connection. We are an inclusive, supportive community committed to enhancing the lives of people with a disability and believe an environment promoting comfort and enjoyment is key to growth and development.

WHAT IS A DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATOR?
A Developmental Educator, also referred to as a DE, possesses specialised knowledge in disability, holds a university qualification in disability, is recognised as an allied health professional, and is approved by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
DEs are multi-skilled and work collaboratively with people with disability throughout their lifespan, as well as with their families and support networks.
A DEs role involves delivering a range of specialised services, focusing on contributing to society by adopting a ‘we’ attitude, emphasising individual strengths, and employing a holistic, person-centred approach guided by a human rights framework.
DEs promote inclusion and support people with various disabilities across the lifespan. They take an innovative and creative approach and follow best practices when working with people with disabilities.
Professional Association
Developmental Educators Australia Incorporated (DEAI) oversees this self-regulating allied health profession, ensuring adherence to a Code of Ethics and ongoing professional development requirements.
